Results of Thread Lace

Sue Anne's thread lace becomes the focal point in her strip pieced quilt. She used a piece of Lutradur that she painted with a light wash of color. She used very little heat on the Lutradur because she did not want much melting. With the light stitching and large motif, it resembles eyelet fabric.

The center square is Jamie's thread lace. It is pieced into the surrounding fabrics. The quilt is embellished with seed stitch and beads.

Results of Closing the Gap

Sue Anne commemorates her siblings with this quilted piece. Each small quilt represents herself and her three brothers, and sister with personal embellishments and motifs. The closures in last month's Tart kit are used to add interest as well as to hang it all together.

Susan used the closures as visual and textural interest within a quilted piece of scrapped strips.

Jamie's piece is made up of left over quilted scraps from other quilts which are connected with the various closures.

Results of DeColourant Plus

Susan used the deColourant Plus in several ways. She used her motif as both a stencil to change the color of the shape and as a mask to change the color of the background. She has embellished with rhinestones, trim, beads, and embroidery.

Jamie stamped three snowflakes on individual blocks and stitched them together. The motif has been trapuntoed for more dimension and the background is heavily stippled.
